Section 338 tariff list — Canada origin

The list that matters for US inbound extra duty is Annex II, not a keyword blog post. Canada’s matching list is still unpublished.

US extra duty (Canadian origin): 554 8-digit HTS lines, effective 22 August 2026. Filing headings in Chapter 99 include 9903.03.12 (alcohol), 9903.03.13 (dairy), 9903.03.14 (motor-vehicle annex). Rate: 50% additional.

The motor-vehicle annex is the broad one. Alcohol is not only drinks (hockey equipment is cited there). Dairy is not “all dairy” — heading 0406 cheese is not on that annex.

Look up a line in the scanner. Ordinary HTSUS text comes from USITC 2026 Revision 16 (14,957 8-digit index). That schedule is not the 50% list.

Counter-tariffs were announced for about 8 September 2026. Until Finance / CBSA publish the HS items, TariffScope shows pending for extra CA duty and will load the official list the day it exists. The T2026 Access file we ingested is descriptions + MFN/UST — not retaliation.

Canada list — expected September 8

Leave an email if you want a note when Canada’s official HS list is in the scanner. No newsletter. Until then, Canadian extra duty stays marked pending.
